Nathan Filer is a comic poet. He is a regular contributor to many of the UK's leading literary festivals and events, including: Latitude Festival, the Port Eliot Lit Fest, Glastonbury Festival, Swindon Festival of Literature and the Bristol Poetry Festival. In 2008 he co-wrote Do Not feed The Interwebs – an hour long production combining elements of poetry, comedy, theatre and film – which was programmed at both the Cheltenham Festival of Literature and London’s Gold ‘08.

An occasional 'Slam Poet' he has scooped top awards at several major competitions, including:  The Great Transatlantic Slam (2003), The BBC Radio 4 Slam (2004), The UK All Stars Poetry Slam (2005), The John Betjeman Memorial Slam (2007) and the Apples & Snakes Bridport Slam (2008).

His writing has featured on BBC 3 television, the Radio 4 afternoon play, BBC Radio 4’s Bespoken Word, BBC Radio 4’s Word of Mouth and BBC Radio 7’s Poetry Stand-up. In 2005 he collaborated with acclaimed comedy film making collective, RONG UK. Their poetry film, Oedipus, was winner of the BBC New Film Makers Award and went on to win other prestigious prizes across the world, including the 'Best Film Award' at Berlin's Zebra Poetry Film Festival (2006) and 'The audience Choice Award' at Toronto's World of Comedy Film Festival.

In 2008 he wrote and co-produced a second poetry short, My Little Sister, which was a finalist in the Encounters 'Best of British' competition. He continues to make poetry shorts under the production label, LyricalElastic. He is also a collaborator with Qualia Theatre, and is currently working as a scriptwriter for Rubberductions.
